PhD Candidate at Athens University of Economics and Business/ Co-Founder - TechApps HEALTHIER
Nikolaos-Dimitrios Vasilakis is a researcher and PhD candidate in e-Government (with further specialization in the Management of Information Systems in the healthcare) at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), department of Management Science and Technology (ELTRUN / ISTLab research centers). He is a graduate (Hons) of the same department (2008) and holds a master’s degree (MPhil) in Innovation, Strategy and Organization from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge (2011). He has been honored with scholarships by the Lilian Voudouri Foundation (2011), and George and Victoria Karelia Foundation (2013, 2014, 2015).
He has worked in research projects on 1) the use and role of information systems in health reform (UK), 2) RFID Applications in hospitals (RF-Cure, Greece), 3) shared logistics practices in an urban environment (U-TURN, Horizon 2020), and 4) e-government in Greece (diaNEOsis Research and Policy Institute, Greece). He has also worked as a Business Intelligence Consultant at Relational Technology SA (2008-2010) and as a Blue Book Trainee at the European Commission (2014). He holds certifications from Google for AdWords and Analytics and has attended a series of seminars on e-commerce and digital marketing.
He is also co-founder at TechApps Healthier; a startup focusing on the development of Healthier: the smart, complete and portable personal health management assistant, His involvement in the project concerns both the business development and the application/service design, with an emphasis on the association with existing information systems in the
healthcare.
