Anna Palaiologk is a Senior Research Consultant with 10 years of experience in the ICT sector. Anna is currently employed by EXODUS where she manages and coordinates EU projects in various areas including Smart Agriculture. In particular she is involved in two large scale precision agriculture projects: AFarCloud and CYBELE. AFarCloud project exploits the technology of Internet of Things and aims at making farming robots and drones accessible to more users by enabling them to work in a cooperative mesh. CYBELE project aspires at demonstrating how the convergence of HPC, Big Data, Cloud Computing and the IoT can revolutionize farming, reduce scarcity and increase food supply, bringing social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Anna holds a MSc in Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands) and a BSc in Economics (University of Macedonia, Greece). Before EXODUS, Anna has worked for the High Performance Computing Centre of Stuttgart (HLRS) in Germany, where she represented the interests of the Automobile industry of the BW region in large IT infrastructure projects. Anna has also worked for an SME in Spain as a Business Development Manager, and for in a consulting company in the Netherlands as a Policy Analyst for clients such as the European Commission, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and other donors. At the early stages of her career Anna has worked for the Dutch Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS) Institute and Charles Beagrie Ltd, specializing in cost-benefit analysis of data preservation and management. Her current research interests focus on developments in IoT, (Big) Data analytics and Artificial Intelligence applications.
